Day 2 (Food Log) 2/21/12

Upon waking I made about 6 cups of Black Phoenix Coffee and consumed it black. For breakfast I ate 6 whole Organic Eggs scrambled with about 4 ounces of Whitefeather Ham chunks. I could barely finish this meal and was full until lunch time. For lunch I had a Whitefeather Meats burger grilled with a package of No-Nitrite Whitefeather Bacon. The burger was about 6 or 7 ounces and I ate about 6 or 7 slices of bacon. The bacon was fantastic and adds tons of flavor to anything you eat with it. I drank more water than usual throughout the afternoon and again was not hungry until about 5 or 530 in the evening. I had a salad with Red Wine Vinegar as dressing since it has zero calories and lots of flavor. For dinner I had Whitefeather Meats Chicken breasts sliced up, wrapped in Whitfeather Meats bacon and then baked in the oven. By far the best meal of the day. I was not hungry at all today and simply ate my meals until I was full or too full as was the case with breakfast. As you notice I don't really weigh out my food or decide what I need to eat by the amount of food involved. The nice thing about eating a diet high in protein and fat is that you really can eat as much meat as it takes to get you full and then stop rather than eating only a few ounces here and there and then you are starving all day. The key is to fill up on protein and you won't be hungry for quite a while. I also did some plyometric workouts before breakfast which consisted of some 30" box jumps, some 1 arm barbell snatches with 95lbs and a few sets of pull/ chin ups. Just a quick but effective workout.

  1. Since you're basically eating a ketogenic diet, Craig, you're going to find that you'll be able to go longer without eating, and will be eating less at meals as time goes on. You'll also find that you're going to want (need) to add some carbohydrates back into your diet, mostly in the form of fruit and safe starches such as sweet potatoes, to fuel your workouts as they become more strenuous.

But you're off to a great start!
